Global Ambassador Responsibilities

As a Global Ambassador:

  • You are expected to commit to one year of service, from August to May.
  • You may be offered to renew the position for the following academic year with the approval of the Director.
  • You are required to serve your first 15 hours to the Education Abroad without pay.
  • After the first 15 hours, you will be paid the Missouri minimum wage for any additional service with Education Abroad.
  • You can work up to 20 hours per week, with a minimum of 10 office hours per week.
  • You will have an additional training commitment, typically organized in August prior to the start of the semester, which is not eligible for service hours or pay.
  • You will have mandatory responsibilities, including one weekend or evening event semester, and a variety of optional responsibilities, which are eligible for service hours or pay.

Training Commitment

You must attend the Summer Training Retreat prior to the beginning of the fall semester. Retreat dates will be communicated in the online application. This is an overnight retreat and accommodations/food will be provided.

  • Education Abroad and MSU Majors Fair
  • 8 Education Abroad Presentations per semester
  • Scholarship Recruitment Days
  • Student Showcase Days
