New Study Away Voucher Program Benefits Incoming Students

Beginning in the fall of 2009, all new freshmen who enroll at Missouri State will be eligible to receive a $500 Missouri State Study Away voucher. The voucher may be used anytime after a student has completed one year of full-time enrollment at Missouri State to help cover the costs of an officially approved study-away experience. In addition, students who transfer from Missouri State’s two-year campus in West Plains with an associate’s degree also will be eligible for the voucher after completing one year of full-time study at the Springfield campus.

The Study Away voucher may be used by students for any credit-producing approved Study Away opportunity offered by Missouri State. These programs range from a few weeks to a full year, and are offered to a variety of countries around the world.

To qualify, freshmen and West Plains transfer students who enroll for fall 2009 or thereafter must have successfully completed one year of full-time enrollment at Missouri State and be in good academic standing. The $500 voucher may be used for tuition, travel expenses, living expenses or any other expenses related to the Study Away program.
