The CELTA course at Missouri State University is held in the Jim D. Morris Center, located at 301 South Jefferson Ave., Springfield, MO 65806.
Entry requirements for candidates
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be at least a high school graduate. It is recommended that the applicant has completed a Bachelor’s degree.
- Have an awareness of language and a competence in both written and spoken English which will enable them to undertake the course and prepare for teaching a range of levels. Non-native applicants must be at least at the high C1 level on the CEFR.
- Have the potential and willingness to develop the necessary skills to become effective teachers and to complete successfully the written assignments and the assessment of practice teaching.
All applicants must attend an interview either in person or by phone/Skype before an offer of a place on the course can be made.
