Health Care and Health Insurance
Find a doctor or dentist
If a friend cannot direct you to a physician or dentist, look in the Yellow Pages of the phone book or in the information provided by your insurance company. It is essential to telephone for an appointment before going to a doctor or dentist. You may have to wait a few days or weeks for an appointment unless you are sick or in need of a doctor immediately. In those instances, you can either go to the emergency room at one of the hospitals, or go to a walk-in clinic. In the case of an emergency dial 911 and an operator will assist you.
