Southwest University in China
Since 2019, SWU has hosted a dual-degree program with Missouri State on its campus
in Chongqing, China. Faculty from Missouri State’s Plant Science and English departments
provide core coursework at SWU to ensure students gain the knowledge and expertise
needed to complete program requirements. Over 80 students have earned degrees from
both universities in Plant Science, completing 3 years at SWU and the final year on
the Springfield, MO campus of Missouri State.
Ningxia University in Ningxia, China
Students from Ningxia University complete a study abroad semester at Missouri State
each fall. Around 12-15 students take 12 credit hours in courses related to their
majors. This program allows students to gain international experience while completing
their program requirements. Additionally, this program aids Ningxia University with
their recruitment efforts by funding a study abroad experience for their students.
Kazakh Faculty Exchange
Kuralay Urazayeva and Ulzhan Kabievna, faculty members from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian
National University in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, visited Missouri State in Summer 2025
to share their research projects with our students and faculty members. This was an
opportunity for them to present their research to an international audience, fulfilling
their Bolashak Project requirements. It was also an opportunity for the Missouri State
community to learn more about Kazakh language, culture, and traditions.
CESUPA, Brazil
CESUPA University in Belém, Brazil sends groups of students to Missouri State every
spring for a short-term program where students spend around 10 days shadowing experts
in their career fields.
