Deferral Procedure

In order get a new I-20 / DS 2019 issued for a later session of the Bridge to Academic English Program (BAEP), you will need to meet the following requirements: 

  1. It is no more than one week after the beginning of the semester for which you originally applied. 
    For example: If you applied for a semester starting January 8, you need to ask your deferral before January 16.
  2. Reapply to the BAEP program for the new semester using the same login as your initial application: APPLY
    1. Choose "Yes" to the question: "Have you applied to the BAEP program or to MSU before?"
    2. Provide your M#
    3. Select the new semester you wish to apply for.
    4. Complete the rest of the application and upload updated versions of 
      1. The Statement of Financial Support - 2025-2026. (this document may be downloaded and completed by right clicking and choosing "save as")
      2.  The official statement from your bank in English which specifies the amount of money available for one term of language training.
    5. You may need to update other documents (passport, transcripts...) if they have changed since your initial application. 
    6. Pay the $75 deferral fee here and upload the receipt to the application portal. (The payment link also available in the applictaion portal)
  3. You will receive a new BAEP admission letter for the new semester.
  4. You will receive notification to re-access your International Student Portal to retrieve your new I-20 / DS-2019. (You will need to have retained access to https://my.missouristate.edu/ with your MSU account credentials to re-access the International Student Portal.)
