Relevant Resources for Veterans and Adult Learners
Veterans
Veterans are a growing population on the Missouri State campus, and the Office of Education Abroad works closely with the Oldham Family Veteran Student Center. Missouri State’s School Certifying Official (SCO) is Nicole Dalton. She is responsible for keeping the VA informed of the enrolment status of veterans and their dependents and certifying tuition and fees. Nicole helps veterans understand if their benefits may or may not be applied to study abroad. Please contact Nicole for assistance in better understanding how your benefits relate to study abroad funding.
Adult Learners
Married students and students with families are encouraged to consider a education abroad opportunity as well. Whether you are interested in a short term faculty led program or semester long education abroad program with your family, there are many resources available to help you. We highly encourage you to begin your planning early, as there may be additional steps and fees required to complete the process. Some of the additional requirements and expenses may include passports for family members, childcare obligations, housing restrictions, employment leave, and liability concerns.
You are encouraged to meet with our Education Abroad Advisor to identify a program whose length, housing, academics, location, etc. best fits you and your interests.
