Education Abroad for Students with Disabilities
Missouri State University is committed to supporting students with disabilities in all aspects of their MSU experience and encourages you to explore the rewarding education abroad opportunities. This includes students with disabilities of all types. Students may request accommodations based on Missouri State’s Education Abroad Accommodations policy.
Just as cultures differ, though, so does the degree of access and readily available disability services in the many countries and communities you might consider for your education abroad experience. Students with disabilities have successfully participated in many education abroad programs; however, not every education abroad experience offers the same level of accessibility.
To maximize the opportunity to travel abroad and study internationally, it is essential that you allocate sufficient time to plan for accommodations, regardless of the type of disability. Experience tells us the key to success is early notification and planning. The Disability Resource Center and the Education Abroad team are here to assist you before and during your time abroad.
